In fights with German invaders 16.04 to 20.04.1945 and from 20.04 to 2.05.1945 comrade Bolotyuk shown boldness, virtue and courage. During the crossing of the river Neisse [Lusitian one] and capturing the city of Forst disregarding the strong enemy fire he was the first to cross the river, captured the bridgehead, widened [? - not sure what word is there] it as well as first reached the city and started [??? - lack of ink - word unitelliginble] fight with the enemy. In this fights 15 hitlerites were killed, 3 enemy counter attacks were stopped, and [???] fire if one machinegun post of the enemy.
In the fight for destroying surrounded group of enemy troops in the region of the village of Nassow, south-east of Berlin he killed 5 hitlerites, stopped two counter attacks of the enemy and he took 2 soldiers prisoner.
Worthy of state award - order "Glory" 3rd class.

His OPWII'85 states he was born in Verhnov but the bureaucrats were known to have revolving opinions.

There was a problem wiith the citation - even though in all the documents he is spelled Bolotyuk, the OG3 citation could only be found under surname "Bolotnyuk" - seems to be the mistake of those who put it on podvignaroda.

I've come across a few of those. Even though the citation, document, prikaz/ukaz has the name right, "the site" has it slightly (or rarely very) wrong. I once had a nightmare of a time finding a 1942-43 citation due to two very common first and father's names but incorrect first letter of family name.

уличные is one of the missing words i think. Street fighting.
The last missing word is supressed.
"suppressed the fire from one enemy machine gun position"

The first word is expanded. so, he captured the bridgehead, expanded it and was one of the first to burst into the city and start street combat with the enemy.

That makes perfect sense.
Andas forthe bridgehead - it seems that I had more problem finding an English word than a Russian one.
