The less frequently seen Medal "For Victory Over Japan" Variation 1.
His Medal "For Combat Merits" wasn't long service but a 1968 wounds award (That I will track down the citation of later).

His Medal "For Victory Over Japan" В#499982 was awarded on 26th July 1946 and the mistake on it was so bad that it had to be addressed on the rear by the head of staff of the 158th Separate Aviation-Technical Battalion.

His Red Army Soldier's Booklet gives the biggest insight but doesn't mention any wounds.

I haven't seen this model of Red Army booklet. When were they produced?

Having this in my hands again, it doesn't give a date but must be 1947 or earlier. It lists the printer on the last page.
