Badge Of Honour. - Art - 03-16-2002 These are weights of orders I've collected over the past 2 years. I'll post one thread for each award. All were weighed with the screwback off. I use a Pocket-Tech digital scale by Gram-Precision. Some were weighed over a year later to check the accuracy of my results and all were 100% accurate. Order Name/Class-----Serial Number------Weight in grams Badge of Honor 11419 35.9 One of my favorites... I bought this approximately 3 years ago..supposedly issued to a Jewish lady party member. Flat screw back with three rivets and makers name. #11419 with silver clothes washer and original issue box..looks similar to the HSU box..probably originally had a felt insert. Badge Of Honour. - Tal Inbar - 06-17-2002 Hi I think it is interesting to know more about Soviet orders like this one - currently on ebay - with the recipient name engraved on the back: Badge Of Honour. - sovvisor - 06-17-2002 I´ve seen this before. Is it made by the regement or veteran. I have seen it on order of the red star, 20 years RKKA, medal for bravery in combat and on Medal for combat service. The odd thing is that all the medals were in the same store in Tallinn, Estonia and none were the same name. Besides that shop which had mostly junk except this 4 medals. I didn´t buy any since I didn´t know if it was genuine. Sorry, no pics. Please post new replies. THis area is interesting. Best Badge Of Honour. - Nota Bene - 06-17-2002 Very interesting, but not totally unusual. I think I have a similarly named Red Star somewhere. Will try to find it. Alexei Badge Of Honour. - sovvisor - 06-17-2002 [Ain´t everything in number and mint mark wrong on this piece. serial is for a type 2 var 5 but the mint mark is for a type 3 var 3, explenation? Badge Of Honour. - Doug - 06-22-2002 What is the opinion of the group on this one? Is the medal and the engraving original? What about the patina? I've not seen engraving like this before. If it's good, is it worth the price asked? All the best, Doug Badge Of Honour. - Nota Bene - 06-22-2002 Doug, I was so concentrated on the name, I forgot to look at the other details. Hmmm... I am puzzled. 25,XXX-30,XXX range is sort of a dark area for this Order. Both screwback and the flatback types exist in this range. I have never seen a serial number engraved this neatly on either type, but the style of the digits matches that of the letters in the name. It is obviously a custom job. The patina looks OK to me. I am inclined to believe that it is genuine, but will not bet on it. This piece was awarded in December 1942-January 1943. I don't know what the asking price is, but I'd pay $50-60 for it provided that the seller offeres a money back guarantee. Alexei Badge Of Honour. - Tal Inbar - 06-22-2002 Well, the seller ask $125.00 as a start, or $250.00 for "buy it now". it comes with document which I am not familliar with: Badge Of Honour. - Nota Bene - 06-23-2002 Tal, This is not an official award document, but sort of an advanced warning. The signature may be worth something, but $125 still seems a little too much. Alexei Badge Of Honour. - Bone Collector - 08-06-2003 This is for sale at an auction site for about 22 euros. Serial number is 423720. What would be a good price for this? |
