I have had this badge for over 20 years now. What is it for? Which branch of service is it?

Any armed force but usually in their "Medical Service". Any lower-middle officer rank with the odd exception.

Yes. I will make photos within the next day or two. I work very late hours. There are no inscriptions or maker marks.
