Thirtieth Anniversary of what?
I did not know where to post it, because I do not know what it is :o:o:o
What should commemorate? It has no mark. |

Most likely the unit's creation.

Re: Thirtieth Anniversary of what?
Soviet Navy jet interceptors/radar forces?
Strangely, it's got a 50s/60s era fastener to the pin on the reverse. Nice badge.

Re: Thirtieth Anniversary of what?
I know it's the soviet navy flag, but this badge looks strangely Bulgarian to me...

Re: Thirtieth Anniversary of what?
Yes, it does have that Bulgarian look, especially on the enamel and patina. But Bulgarian uses the word Godina and its derivates instead of Let to indicate years, right?

Re: Thirtieth Anniversary of what?
Hmm, that's right, but what's the plural from "godina"? Because in Russian singular form is "god". And it's similar in other slavic languages. I don't know how it's in Bulgarian.
But it does have a Soviet Navy flag, so I think it was supposed to be commemorating something Soviet. Maybe Bulgarian-made for Soviets? Maybe anniversary of cooperation (ok, the WP was created a yearlater, but...), or the presence of Soviet fleet in Bulgaria (was there?)? |
