Congrats to all former Soviet Army soldiers with the Army Day!

This year Russian government greeted RF military personnel with embarrasing mishap. It was decided that billboards would be put up all over Moscow city - great idea! However, the execution was terrible.

Actual billboard pictured a military vessel and a jet plane, along with the actual greeting. Sounds good so far, right?

Well, the problem was that the vessel pictured is not Russian one, but US Navy ship Missoury!!!!!

On top of this - the configuration of the jet fighter plane pictured is not the one used by Russian Air Forces, but export variation sold to India!!!!

WTF!!! American lincore and Indian jet plane as background to Russian Army holiday greetings billboard!!!

February 23 - The Soviet Army Holiday has a new name in Russia today.

Holiday of the Deffender of Fatherland.

William, this sounds like another task that was outsourced to uhmmm perhaps INDIA?! And they may not have known any better... Or... that was the first image that Google served up... either way - HILLARIOUS!!!!

Hey,

I knew the Mighty MO was famous, but come on - this is crazy!

However, I think serving as a memorial in Pearl Harbor and honoring Russian service personnel in Moscow is a pretty amazing feat for a decommissioned battleship!

Even if it was a mix-up.
