Badge "Frontovnik 55 Years Of Victory".

Looks like a soldier standing on a Nazi symbol and the #55.

What does anyone know about this and does anyone have a better photo of such a badge?

Got the badge in the mail to day.

The main part of the badge seems to be brass with the red color enamel.

The second part is the soldier on the black enameled Nazi cross with the white 55 shield.

Definately a solid piece.

The screwback has "ОРЕЛ цКо" and "Moscow" (in cryllic)

Could this badge be older than 7 years and the 55 stand for something else? Does it have to stand for 55 years after the defeat of Germany? Could it be a division badge? I am in the dark and am wondering since it seems to be a better than the usual quality badge.

Jeff,

I had not yet seen that one. I believe that it is a commemorative badge of the 55th anniversary of WWII victory.
It is nicely made, apparently much better than most of the other WWII commemorative badges of recent years.

Yes, agreed. I haven't seen it either and it's a nice one.

It states it's for a "Frontovik" or true front-line soldier, like the German landser, but I have a feeling anyone wearing a Victory over Germany medal and still alive in 2000 was given one. I'm in the process of photographing over 350 of these for a booklet on veteran's badges and haven't seen one of these.

Show us the reverse of the badge. With that style of screwback nut and heavier quality, I tend to believe it is of later (2000) manufacture and not belonging to the 55 Rifle Division, 55 Rifle Corps, or 55 Army, etc.
