Admirals visor ok??

Hello all,

I saw this one on the net and what do you all think of it judging by this photo??

This is a modern copy, made in Pakistan. If you compare the embroidery with authentic Soviet caps (like the one on the attached photo), you will find these new made ones to be completely different. Don't buy this piece of crap.

Thank you very much for the information at least one person who can answer seriously.As stated before i'm all new to collecting russian militaria so i'm bound to make mistakes but as far as i know forums are there to help one another.So again thank you very much Tretov.

Welcome to the forum! Please don't be turned off by some responses, there can often be a mixed bag of comments when you post items. We are happy to have you here.

Tretov is great for Cold War era uniforms and headgear, so take his word on these modern made copies.

You're welcome. There is an entire range of these caps available, from KGB caps to admirals, engineering generals, green-gray-white - the color of your choice. Still the quality is way different (I can't say the embroidery is "bad" by definition, it is just miles away from the Soviet era caps in materials and technique used) and that makes them easy to spot. As someone said, these can be used for fancy parties, but I would not spend money on this kind of caps even for such reasons.
