Updating soviet-awards.com

Hello gents,

our beloved soviet-awards.com has been great resource for all of us without a doubt. But since the beginning of the website significant amount of time has passed by and new important information has become available. Therefore, I have been thinking that it would be really cool to update the website. For example, more medal variations could be added, rarity keys updated, and etc. By the way, I just noticed that the Odessa variation 1 example on the website is a fake. I realize that updating such a website is a time consuming process and maybe even would require additional finances. I understand that it may not happen for good reasons. I just wanted to share some thoughts

I really trust in you, Marc (and all other "Experts" gathering there) to dig in your immense knowledge and resources aleady available in this Forum, to make the reference in the English spoken world, and maybe more... .

What with there being how many variations of the VOG and LVOG known today the task in hand would seem somewhat daunting to me.
Kudos to anyone who can complete (or contribute to the completion) of the task.
Hopefully the update would cover all known types and variations, weights, measurements, mintage figures, observed ranges, establishing etc ukazs, award criteria, documents and examples of as many awarding committee/unit stamps as possible.

I would like to wipe away the front end of the website completely and start over using something like wordpress. The advantage is that wordpress is a free, open source CMS, constantly being improved by some talented people. I'd really like to put more facebook and twitter integration into the front end as well. I always imagined the site having a separate URL for every type and variation.

The front end of this site has become very stagnant. My personal time is not what it was when I originally hand coded the site out of html using dreamweaver. For the site to evolve it needs a new front end. I'd be willing to offer some form of payment for this, but I can't offer much. If someone undertook that it would mostly be a labor of love.

Thank you Marc for your generous offer. There definitely is no deadline. The last time I updated the front end I think was 2008. (smiling embarassingly) Let me think a bit more on how to proceed. I'd like to research a solution to the wordpress setup. By this I mean I'd like to find one that we can build on. Everyone is encouraged to help with that. What I'd like is for any updates to be broadcast on any social platform we can.

For those who are much more social media savvy than me, your input would be appreciated. Particularly if you have some solid experience with the wordpress CMS.
