As I see it, this is your "type 2" (though the pebbling seems coarser). Am I right?

Definitely looks to be the "coarse" variant.

When I get around to mobilising myself (and I happen to be awake when it is light) there will be another explosion of posts on DPRK awards as the surface is only just starting to be scratched. Items will include hitherto unseen Medals, Badges and new variants and types of many of the previously seen items including even more Guards Badges and maybe a dozen more types/variants of the Order Of The National Flag 3rd Class.

It will be a long time before the DPRK awards section even starts to look like it may become comprehensive.
