Interesting picture of Kalasknikov
I found this picture of Mikhail Kalasknikov, and it appears that he is wearing what looks like an Imperial Russian award.

Frieza,
Which order exactly are you referring to? If you are referring to the one on his right breast, right next to the Red Star, then this is the "star" for the Order for Services to the Motherland I class. See attached picture. |

I recommend going to the following website to get information on the Russian Federation awards:
http://www.gov.ru/nagrad/index.htm The site is in Russian but gives excellent information on the new awards. Merry Christmas to all, Bill |

I still say that the older Soviet uniforms were much better for displaying medals ribbons and orders than the new Russiaqn Federation uniforms.

Russian Federation Awards In Wear.
Some puctures that I found in the website of the russian space agency shows a celebration and medal awarding to a crew of cosmonauts (and Enushe Ansary, the 4th space tourist. I can't identify this medal:

Ansary Awards
In the picture of Ansary on the right the medal on the left appears to be the Federal Space Agency's Badge For Space Actitities Support (see below). The badge "is awarded to foreign nationals for the promotion of space activities, for major contributions to the specialist training and promulgation of Russia's achievements in space." The badge "is [normally] bestowed upon employees of the Agency central staff and Russian space-related organizations who have worked in the industry for no less than 5 years...." Space Exploration Awards, Volume II. I'm not sure about the medal on the right.

Alexander Ivanovich Lebed'
One of the more "interesting" (and I'm not sure I say this in a positive way) figures in recent Russian/Soviet history is Alexander Ivanovich Lebed' (Алекса́ндр Ива́нович Ле́бедь, 1950-2002).
Wilkipedia (all disclaimers engaged) says of his military career: Quote:
A few relevant images follow. (Notice his sloppiness with how he wears his awards. Pardon the stupidity, but what is the neck badge?) To lighten the search, a couple of quotes from Wikipedia: (On the Russians) "Most Russians don't care whether they are ruled by fascists or communists or even Martians as long as they can buy six kinds of sausage in the store and lots of cheap vodka." (On the Soviet-Afghan War) "We began the war with lofty aims but ended up with a war against the people." Additional wisdom? (Without getting political, please.) |

Re: Russian Federation Awards in wear.
Here is Major-General Ivan Alekseevich Kondub. Deputy Head (For Security) Of Administration Of The City Of Nevinnomysk.
A nice array of Soviet, RF, Ministerial and Organisational awards.
