Accompanying a reconnaissance party forward of the infantry forces north of Vetschau, he conducted an engineer reconnaissance with a group of the regiment’s sappers and there they built two bridges from materials on hand to replace bridges destroyed by the enemy across branches of the Spree river.
He is deserving of the Order of the Patriotic War II Class.
