Re: Order Of Military Service Honour Guide.
Here is the 2nd Type which has been reduced in weight and is still constructed in a single piece of plated copper.

Re: Order Of Military Service Honour Guide.
Here is the second variation of the second type. This variation sticks out most to me due to the variation in the letter ᄇ in 부.

Re: Order Of Military Service Honour.
In the recent film "The Interview" (you may not have heard of it - it was a very muted release) there is an absolute abundance of OMSH3s. It is the only award shown in the film and surprisingly it also seems that they are all real (unlike the slightly off ribbon bars - which are identical and fake flag badges).
It wouldn't surprise me if these real awards were used as it was cheaper to obtain them than reproduce them (they very frequently sell for under $1). Very reasonable wardrobes but unfortunately just missed the mark, certainly closer to reality that all those "homemade" uniforms worn by the Germans in so many early Second World War films or Soviets in Cold War/James Bond type films.

Re: Order Of Military Service Honour.
Yes, a muted release indeed. :D
I saw that as well and had the same thoughts--that likely real orders were used instead of copies. For me, this was an area of a missed opportunity for the movie; it would have been an interesting image to have one of those generals with orders "from neck to bellybutton." Instead, Hollywood went understated..in this way, anyway. Ugh, looks like uncle Jang Sung-taek is still in the shot below. George |
