Budionnovka - opinons please

This looks authentic (the cap itself and the wear), however there are some good fakers living here, so I would like to hear some opinions.
The size is about 54, it has a trace of something that once was probably a factory stamp with some text and something that looks like soviet sate emblem.
Also, what model is this? 26?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the poor pictures.

It's very hard to tell from those blurry pics. This type is HEAVILY faked and pretty well faked too. I know one "collector" in Russia that weathers newly made on his fence outdoors to make them look older.

I never even imagined fake sweat before I started collecting uniforms...:banghead :angerr

I'm not a cloth collector and the pictures could be better, but the condition of that red cloth cap-star backing screams to me "stay away".

bud

Kim, I know who you are talking of, I remember our visit to his dacha....did have alot of nice dug items though. As for this bud, I really can't think that anyone could develop a firm conclusion based on the pics. Though faked ( huge number on E, all with tell tale signs) this one does not look like those I have seen. Would like to see more of the stamp.

I'll try to make better pics, however I doubt I can make any better pic of this ^*&* stamp, because it can barely be seen in a good light and I was afraid it won't be visible on the pic at all.

Lower part of the stamp.
It's not the question of poor pic. I can see this stamp only in a good light, but I can't read it. I think that there is a word "fabrika" there, but it's just a guess...
More pics tommorrow afternoon.

Re: Budionnovka - opinons please

Man, what a great lid. If I lived anywheres where there was a winter I'd have a hat like that! :)

Sorry I can't help with authentication Andreas buy yes, it does look really new. And I see *many* copies sold on eBay (as copies). I do know they have the cloth star on the front. I can't remember if they have the old style hammer and plow star on there as well.

Re: Budionnovka - opinons please

Hello Andreas,

I'd like to see it in person, but if it were offered to me based on these photos I would pass.

Not that it is a repro, but the material and style look much more like a WWII era bud to me, made (or modified) to look like RCW era. I would not be comfortable with the glassy cap badge either, though perhaps this is just from the camera flash. These buds varied quite a bit for the 1918-1924 era, so I think you just have to go with your vibe on these; opinions on buds from this era vary greatly. What some are comfortable with, others are not, etc.

Re: Budionnovka - opinons please

i personally have problem with the buttons.
i have never seen cloth covered buttons, certainly no blue.

maybe this is just a lack in what i have seen and not.
