Medal "For The Liberation Of Korea".
Here's a strange piece I picked up with a nice naval career group of medals. Front of booklet is typical "UDOSTEVERENIE K MEDALI" then we get "ZA OSVOBOSHDENIE KOREI"
It has a number written "00730", which must be a document number as the medal is not serialized, only stamped on reverse with a few korean or chinese characters and the date "1945. 8.15" Inside booklet is a date of October 15, 1948, also stamp is unit "90251", which is also written above signature in a blank for "KOMANDIR V Y". This same number unit stamp appears in several of the documents I have with this group. I'm curious as to what the red text says if anyone would like to translate it.

Very interesting. Perhaps it was a local unit issue thing? Here's the document that I have with one of my Korea groups. It's dated 1949, and it's definately 'local' unit issue. --Dave |

I believe that was his actual certificate. I've got all of his other documents, and nothing else for the Korean medal. Also, given the fact that he kept this document folded up in his order book, would lend me to believe it was the only document he got. --Dave |

Unknown medal document
Which medal is this for? The doc is included with a WWII naval group for a 2nd rank captain.

What does that medal look like? I have not heard of it? The "owner" of the group died in the 1960-ties I think.

Art: The Liberation of Korea Medal is established in recognition of the Korean people's eternal gratitude to the the Great Soviet Army for their liberating Korea from the Japanese Imperialists. |

Re: Identify the awards?
I had one that was part of a larger group (medals missing of course) but the rest was there including award box and photo. The entire group fetched about 100 USD so my guess would be about 20 USD for the Korea document. It is a matter of selling to the right person, ie. someone who collects foreign, or even better NK, awards and documents issued to Soviet servicemen.
