Private Jan Mazur, Mechanic, Polish Armed Forces In The West

An interesting group of fotographs and docs to a Polish Armed Forces in the West soldier.
The group consists of a set of photographs from his service - from the Middle East, through Egipt, Italy to Great Britain; his 1948 polish Military ID, 1963 war-related disabled person ID and two docs to his "cousin" (see below).

Jan Mazur, born in 1899 in Nowogródek near Nieświerz started his military service in 1917 in Russia. He than had complicated military record, but after 1939 he found himself in the Soviet Union, where he managed to join the Anders's Army, with which he left the Soviet Union and went through all the route. He was a car mechanic there and was promoted to pfc rank.
After the war he lived in Great Britain for two more years and in 1947 he returned to Poland. Apparently he didn't fall victim to any repressions, even tough many former soldiers of the Armed Forces in the West were accused of espionage and other crimes in the stalinist era.

First, let's have a look at his military ID:
Apparently he was a locksmith in civilian life and had only very basic education - 2 classes of the primary school (however, he attended a very different school - in the beggining of the XX century on the territories still under Russian Empire control) and could speak Russian (apparently not English)...

Re: pfc Jan Mazur car mechanic, Polish Armed Forces in the West

His service record was very busy:
1917 - 44th inf. rgt. of the 1st corps in Russia
1919 - 55th inf rgt. of the 14th division of the Polish Army
1923 - moved to reserve (probably had the Polo-Soviet war episode)
1925 - 6 week training in the 22 inf. rgt.
1939 - mobilised for service in the Border Troops, soon after taken prisoner by the Red Army.
1941 - joined 15th inf. rgt. of the Polish Army in Russia
1942 - Left Russia to Persia
1943 - Iraq, Palestine, Egipt, Italy, promotion to pfc
1946 - went to England, 17th guard company
1947 - Return to Poland, demobilised.

His disabled person's ID - lists heart and digestive problems

Re: pfc Jan Mazur car mechanic, Polish Armed Forces in the West

Serviceman's companion's ID to Anna Nasinnyk, cousin to l/corporal Jan Mazur.

The next doc gives us a clue as to what sort of cousin she was, as her name was hanged to Mazur and her marital statusn to married.
