Focus should be on posting as much information as possible here on the forum I think rather than possible "hoarding" of information for limited access via "specialist" publication.
Like a Korean war Order "Glory" citation.
What is of greater value than information?

RedMaestro2 Wrote:My current vision is an electronic publication (pdf) distilling forum discussions into an article/essay format.
For instance, say we have a thread on Variations of Medal X. A forum member, probably one who has made significant contributions to the discussion, would take this thread and turn the collected info into a polished piece.
We could further compile these "journals" and updates to their content into a larger publication, a sort of encyclopedia on Soviet awards.
I like that idea. Although it's kind of what we have here already I like the idea of distilled information (as well as distilled spirits :p ) in one spot/thread/file. Dennis has been doing great things along those lines already.

Information that has been published is there until the know-nothings burn down all the libraries. Information online has a very brief lifespan. Sadly, everyone these days expects everything to be online and to be available for free (only those who have never done any serious research would ever expect that).

And speaking of which I just got back from the local office supply place (which does custom printing) with 8 annotated pages of A8; the eight pages I use most often. I had had them on my desktop but it's even nicer now to have them in printed form.
For five bucs I got really nice, custom medals catalogue.

I'd like a copy of Fly Fishing by J R Hartley please.
If someone wants to look through the vast backlog of posts on the forum there allegedly are Korean War Glories but the information is being hoarded.
Maybe I'm just not money driven enough to see all aspects of this.
If there is a tent offering fortunes for $5 a go and a tent next to it saying fortunes for free which one do you go in? or do you walk on?

$50 Egad!
For $50 I'd want naught but articles in my field of interest, hardback with gold leaf.
Just think what original items you can buy for $50, specially if you like the less focused upon items like myself.
