Christophe,

No results on Google when typing that name, Fyodor Legkoshur...
So I'm afraid in my case "No idea" is the correct answer... :idea

PS: On the pic posted he has a Badge for 25 Years of Victory + a OGPW and... ?

Thanks

Dolf,

If Google was giving easily the answer, there would not be any question... Rolleyes

About the medals : the ones you mentioned are the only ones that can be identified...

Good luck.

Cheers.

Wild guess.
Did you plant the Soviet flag on the Reichstag in Berlin in 1945 which basically signalled the capture of the city?

Hi kingnorth,

Good try, and not far... but not the good answer.

A hint : What I did of famous, I did it on 24 June 1945.

June 24th 1945 was the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow. Maybe he was throwing one of the Nazi flag in front of the Kremlin.

He looks an awful lot like a younger version of the guy with the leibstandarte adolf hitler flag....

Hi Soviet and Kim,

Bravo !!! Your two answers are correct, but Kim's one is the most complete. Fyodor Legkoshur was the bearer of the Hitler Banner during the Victory Parade. He did not want even to touch it, but was told it was a special honour and form of recognition.

Kim, it's your turn now.

Cheers.

"Fyodor Legkoshur was the bearer of the Hitler Banner during the Victory Parade"

The banner was not at the parade; the DE pole, case, and top were used, but the actual standard / banner was not on the pole. It was always assumed it was lost, until it was discovered a few years back by IIId Reich flag enthusiasts in the archive of the Central Armed Force Museum. In the meantime the Russians had used a simple German battleflag tied in an awkward manner to the original pole. There is a great write up about all of it in the Bender book on DE standards.

Doug,

Effectively, it can be seen on the pic that there is no flag / banner attached.

Thanks for the precision.
