NKGB General ( Vlasik? looks thin for him) at the VP right behind chubby Malenkov.

That frontier troops general uniform is sick, as we say. The NKVD had some good taste in uniforms.:thumbsup
BTW, in #4, pic #2, I count 3 grey-topped visor caps. Would those all correspond to gray M43 prade uniforms?

yes, the grey topped caps are the M1943 generals parade cap; not all generals had the M1945 yet, I'd say about 50% of the generals who wre at ( but not in) the VP still were wearing the M1943 parade uniform. For colelctors the M1943 is MUCH rarer than the now even very rare M1945. DD

2 interesting shots of Air Marshal Vershinin; he was a Colonel-General and promoted to Air Marshal but did not go (right away anyway) and get a correct air marshals tunic with the light blue collar and cuffs....he simply replaced the boards on his generals M1945, going against regulations! So, here is what we would call a 'correct error' : )

His date of rank (DOR) as Colonel General of Aviation was 23 October 1943 and his DOR as Marshal of Aviation was 3 June 1946. Regards, slava1stclass

How about new Thread for Unusual Photos!
Here you go: First - Colonel of "military court" ( I have no idea how to translate "ustitsija" ) with TWO!! Orders of Alexander Nevsky! Second - Officer ( looks like aviation birds ) with FOUR! orders of Red Bannners - all four looks like suspension type! |
