I have an opportunity to buy a 6 digit Red Star awarded in Aug 1944 to a Russian Marine. It comes with research. The price is around 180.00USD. Is it worth it:confused:

Red Stars not being my area of collecting, I thought it best to ask what people think.

Now if it was for a 5 digit OGIII........that's another story;)

Seems a bit pricey but if that's what floats your boat then....

Again, it's only worth what you're willing to pay for it. As someone who has researched a lot of items, really neat research brings a premium.

Unfortunately people have unrealisticly high expectations towards research. They imagine every award belonged to something on the magnitude of a parapalegic spetsnaz pilot who sacrificed himself by crashing into enemy planes, then parachuted to safety and crawled 50km back to friendly lines, killing 10 enemy in the process. This only happens in Hollywood.

Almost every researched award is of interest in some fashion to someone. Obviously, some categories are more appealing than others. Thus, when a real ****** appears, the price is reflected accordingly. So if anyone wants my Glory III awarded to a sniper, remember the above.
