"This auction is for a vintage WWII Russian Army helmet. This helmet has a red medallion on the front of it - approximately one inch wide and one inch tall - with a picture of Lenin on it and Russian characters. The chin strap is still complete and in good condition, as well as the interior liner. I don't know anything about this, as I am not a dealer or collector."
I have observed, over the past year, the emergence of a new "chic" trend, which consist in gluing a VLKSM medallion on about anything and everything. When you run out of fresh ideas, recycle some old ones

A new way to sell znachki
1808: Ronald Reagan Soviet Gorbachev Presidential
Superb Soviet pin given to Reagan by Mikhail Gorbachev on Reagan's historic 1988 trip to the Soviet Union. Obtained directly from the Reagan's Los Angeles housekeeper with a handwritten letter of provenance. Approximately .75'' x 1'', blue, green and burgundy colored pin depicts the Kremlin around which Russian words are printed. Fine condition.
I just wonder what sucker will fall for it. Besides any head of state gifts would be accepted on behalf of the People of the United States and would be kept in the Reagan Library.
This znachok is a souvenir badge from the main cathedral of the Alexandre Nevsky Lavra in St Petersburg. Between the iconography of it and the location of the monument :laff
That badge was on sale not very long ago at souvenir shop of the St Alexandre Nevsky lavra in St Petersburg. Don't know if it still is, but it is very possible

I was being sarcastic on the "I'm convinced..." part. I think these hand-written notes should be equal to a certificate of authenticity.
