Nota Bene Wrote:I also vote 289471 :thumbsup Thanks Alexei! Not to undervalue others people opinion (actually, they were also seeing the same number as you), but since you say so and since I bought it from you in 2005, this is the number I will consider accurate.

Hi Guys,
Here are some pics of a Cavalier set of the Order of Glory, awarded to a Sniper. The 2nd class should I believe have been a border reverse and has been swapped out with another 2nd class and had the number changed, if anyone sees a border reverse with the number 979 let me know, that's if you see a border reverse at all. I have also put up some documents and info but unfortunately I do not read Russian, any help would be appreciated in the translation, or if anyone has a Cavalier book and can look it up for me. Anyway enjoy.
Some Docs etc
Dreads,
Recipient is Khudoshin, Aleksey Petrovich, but it does not say that he was a sniper. As far as I can tell, he was "Razvechik", which should probably be a scout in English Rank: starshina Function: commander of the reconnaissance platoon, 727th batallion, 219th rifle division, 22nd army, 2nd Pribaltiskiy front. He also received an OPW 1st which does not appear in the order book. Given the date he died, it was probably a 1985 jubilee issue. Actually, the article from the encyclopedia mentions the sniper assignment, but it does not appear on the official ones. Marc PS: and that happens to be my 2000th post. Feels like only yesterday when I joined the Forum :D |
