Hi Guys, here is my second Order of the Red Star which arrived today.
Edit: Just looked at the pic I uploaded. It looks like there is a horrible scratch on the bottom right arm of the star. This is not there: must be a trick of the light or some kind of reflection.
Not a big fan of the obverse. Can it be "that" worn down?
I'm prolly just over-sensative.....
"patina imparts character" - PJS

Well yeah but....
Mega dark silver patina after all this 'brasso'ing,
&
the "blob" between the triggerguard and the rifle sling?
I'm not saying it's wrong but I ain't seen that before.

Glad to see you're attentive, but nothing to worry about. The piece was worn down a long time ago and then sat in a drawer where it got its patina. "Blob" is either a photo problem or a high portion that received wear.
Hi Guys, thank you for the comments. It is always nice to have some replies to a thread.
The "blob" above the rifle is his ammo pouch which is worn down and highlighted not having the dark patina. The one beneath the rifle is just a clean spot.
Here is a better pic, which shows the star a bit better and not looking like it is damaged.
I'm going to try to add this Red Star to my collection but would like to hear what you all think about the screwpost on it. It looks like its screwpost has 2 levels. Perhaps someone know if this is just a variation, maybe a replacement?
Where did the circle under the base go that is found on orders in the 50k range like this one?
The obverse is almost identical to two other stars of which one has a number not far away.
Here is the front and back of the order. Number 52870
