This is great :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Two-digit serial numbers are always impressive. It looks like they ran out of room for the list of awards. Is there a "cont. on page..." somewhere?;)

That's a complete list. The last entry states that he died in 1958.

He's my father. He died before he had a chance to tell me anything about his army exploits so I'm trying to ID everything and buy it all so that I can get a vague idea as to what his accomplishments were.. from what my mom told me he was in the Soviet Air Force (telecommunication), was sergeant then joined a technical school (possibly officer school) and was promoted to Jr. Lieutenant.. but I cant seem to find any Soviet Air Force shoulder boards of his rank, and have an especially hard time trying to find his uniform. Any other info will be greatly appreciated! I know its not much to go on, but at this point anything would help, and anyone willing to sell would be a godsend!

Cossack I'm sorry about you father. Junior Let. is what the rank that you would get after hight military education or professional college(uchilishe) . The shoulders board is the aviation ones;one line, 1 small star. About the uniform, if you tell us the years, I'm sure we can describe it.

I couldn't find other pics. Junior Let is the first, Aviation shoulder boards is the 4th on this one

He was in the uchilishe (I referred to it as technical school, my bad), my mom confirmed that.
He was in the Air Force from 1968(?)-1972(?) (not sure about the dates as this was before he met my mom), and attended the uchilishe soon after.

Any ideas as to what the insignias are? maybe some close up would help me, or offers to sell! Also, what would the lighter colour on the collar be? if he was in the Airforce, would it be a a light blue?

Voin-Sportsmen badge, then a "profiency"-badge (the shield is blue with golden edges and has a white number) and a "Army excellence" badge. On the right side is a Komsomol badge.

Cossack, Patrick is perfectly correct (as usual) about the badges and none of them is very hard to find or expensive - even on the e-auction site. I may even have the sports badge in question, and if I do, you are welcome to it (since it came gratis with something else I bought and I have no place for these types of badges in my collection).

Cossack,

Apparently you father was enlisted in Soviet Army in 1968 and served 3 years, right before service time was reduced to 2 years. On the photograph he is wearing M1955 parade-walkout uniform. Original regulations were published in black and white and I’ve also included computer colorized version made recently.
On July 26 1969 new uniform was introduced and transition period was set to 1970 – 1971. M1955 uniform was forbidden to wear after January 1 1972.

On visor hat he is wearing M1969 enlisted men cockade. In 1969 – 1972 this cockade was two piece constriction and it would be difficult to find. The way he is wearing his uniform and his gefreiter rank are both clear indication picture was taking toward the end of his service.
