Following Soviet examples, the Mongolian Army established badges (of obvious design origin?) for outstanding swordsmen (Battushig C02) and riflemen (not in Battushig). This is the rifleman badge. The Mongolian practice differs from the Soviet model in that there seems to have been no badge for outstanding horsemen. All Mongolians, one assumes, were expected to be outstanding horsemen.
