For Wounds
While there was no equivalent of the Purple Heart in the USSR during WWII there apparently were different recognitions given for wounds. Cloth wound stripes as well as medals and orders.
Pobeda45’s is the first Red Banner I’ve noticed given for wounds, but have seen Bravery medals, Red Stars and OG IIIs for wounds. Wondering if anyone knows if there was any official list of who should get what for a wound. Any known criteria, hierarchy, etc.? Which awards have you seen given for wounds? Heard somewhere that the 1985 OPW 1st Class was for veterans who were wounded, while the 2nd class was for those not wounded. True or not?
