Jubilee Medal "65 Years Of Victory In The Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" Document.
I recently picked up an interesting document associated with the 65th anniversary medal in 2010. Issued by the Russian Embassy in Latvia to a veteran. I've seen similar documents for 60 and 65th anniversary medals issued by the Russian Embassy in Estonia, Lithuania, and Moldova.
The serial number merits some discussion. Serial number is 22840, block A. Certainly there couldn't have been over 20000 VOV veterans in Latvia in 2010...? Perhaps the later serial numbers from the whole run (including documents issued in Russia as the document design is the same) were reserved to be issued by Russian embassies abroad? Any thought/opinions/comments? |
