Just a quick update for all forum users.
The forum software has finally been updated, for the first time in 10 years - which is a rather long time considering the forum as it is now is only 17 1/2 years old. This will hopefully iron out many of the quirks the old, creaking and quite obsolete software. Many of those quirks have been rather frustrating for some time, causing service outages and links to malfunction for example.
That being said, the forum has been getting more and more traffic, even with that old software. Last month we hit 318 simultaneousness different users. Quite an impressive figure, which really strained the old software.
Personally, with administrative tasks on the forum and many other tasks in the physical world, I've been getting an even greater backlog of things to post. Hopefully now the forum has been updated, the tasks of administration will relent and I'll have some space to start catching up.
Hopefully the update will make things more accessible to everyone. Time will tell.
