HuliganRS Wrote:I don't think Alexei's prices on those 2 are "crazy".
They have been selling in FSU over $1,500 for the last 3-4 months.
I have been offered $2,000 for mine which I bought from Alexei for only 1/4 of given price.
As much as I hate paying these prices, it's the demand that sets them.
Right now there are more collectors after high/scarce awards than there's supply. One collector/dealer has Suvorov 2 and Khmelnitsky 2 listed at $8,000 each. Is the price crazy? Maybe, but can you get it cheaper? Probably not!
The way I see it, with more time these prices will push out the small collectors out or at least keep them buying smaller stuff and only leave the big dogs behind. I'm personally afraid of what's going to happened since I can't afford to pay $4,100 for Kutuzov 3 now! (Selling at a major dealer in NJ). What's going to happen in 6, 12, and 24 months and beyond...?
Folks,
Just to follow up on the heated discussion, here's one RBL I bought shortly before I saw Alexei posting his two for sale.
It's "Monetniy Dvor" type (the one I was missing) and it's the LOWEST serial number ever observed for this type.
Keeping the reality in mind - I should consider myself extra lucky with the price I paid for this piece.
William
Alexei,
I have to admit that your reasons to acquire those two RBLs and put them for sale at $1750 proved to be correct.
It looks like one RBL screwback is SOLD.
William
