Just an interesting shot showing the service NKVD generals cap, and the parade NKVD generals cap, side by side.

The parade cap is an M1943, as parade caps with embroidery only came out in 1943. The service cap is not an M1943 as there was not really an M1943 service cap, the service cap was introduced in 1940 and is an M1940.
