I bought this order from a reputable dealer a year or so ago, but tonight I discovered a strange feature on the back. Just below the serial number I thought I saw a ghost of a "P"!
The order is 30.96 grams heavy, shows little sign of wear. The front of the silver star is gilded and thus giving lighter red enamel. The serial number is 56286, the ghost of the P is visible below 2 and 8.
Any thoughts on this piece?
I have read about Reissue awards, but I thought that only reissues for republican orders were stamped with the cyrilic R. Or may this "P" be a makers mark or a control mark?
