This happens not only to Soviet awards, but to other fields as well. Examples of price jumps for common awards include:
1) Russian Imperial awards - stars of St Stanislav were $600-700 about three years ago - good luck finding them for less than $2000 today
2) German WW2 - Iron Cross 1st cl - was around $150, today - close to $300; Irob Cross 2 cl - was $50 - today around $100
3) Royal Bulgaria - lower classes (5th - 6th) of their orders were $50 - today over $100.
4) Mongolia - Polar Star - was $40, close to $100 today.
These are just common items which are always available from multiple sources. For rare awards price increase is more significant.
