Red Star.

Thanks Paul, one more question - is it possible for Red Star with serial number in 553xxx range awarded in 1945?

I have 3 RS on record in the 553K s/n range, all authorized between FEB and JUL 44 and awarded by various units of the 1 Belorussian Front.

Now, here's where you have to be specific and please reference Echoes of War - do you mean "authorized" or "bestowed". Authorized is when a HQ signed an order granting the privilege of an award. Bestowed is when it was physically pinned to the guy's chest.

That being said, it is entirely possible your 553K RS was authorized and/or even bestowed in 1945. Confused?

I'd encourage you to check out Echoes of War - it should clear up your question.
