Art Wrote:Is there a real big difference as far as taste? Seeing as I wouldn't know the subtle difference that I'm sure exist between the two, I guess whichever one is good but least expensive.
Art
It is two absolutely different kinds.
I like both, but...
Red is solty and fishy
Not everybody likes red. It is not very expensive. Half a pound of GOOD red caviar in Russian Deli would be around $15.00-20.00. GOOD Black caviar is very expensive. According to the statistics - Black Caviar is the most expensive food in the world. Probably one or two (depending on the size and appetite
) sandwiches (caviar on the wite bred with butter) would cost $50-70 per sandwich. Go not buy black caviar in US Supermarkets or other stores. It is terrible.Check this site for more info: https://finecaviar.com/products/?cat=1
The best black caviar (the most reasonable price :laff) is the picture below. Again, you can find it in Russian Deli (make sure the lead on the jar is blue - color of the lead is quality of the caviar inside).
If your friend never ate caviar, it is better if he tries Black. I doubt he would like red.
