Researching Red Army/Navy Units

A quick check of wikipedia tells me that this could be Russian (pre-1918), Bulgarian (pre-1878), Kazakh, Belorussian, or Ukrainian.

Based on what little I know, I'd vote for old Russian or old Bulgarian since the others tended to be dominated by Russian in the days of organized units (unless this is some sort of Civil War throw-back?).

I thought only Ukrainian had the "i".
