Another award from the estate of Comrade Savinsky: the Academician A.D. Nadiradze Medal instituted jointly by the Moscow Heat Technology Institute and the Cosmonautics Federation of Russia on March 12, 1993. The medal commemorates the outstanding designer of rocket and space systems, Director and Chief Designer (1961-1987) of the Moscow Heat Technology Institute, Twice Hero of Socialist Labor, Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Alexander Davidovich Nadiradze (1914-1987). Reverse has the four-line inscription: <COSMONAUTICS FEDERATION OF RUSSIA - MOSCOW HEAT TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE> in the center. The Pioneer ICBM is reproduced along the bottom.
