Was awarded the Soviet Army soldiers, Navy, Interior Ministry troops (MVD) troops of the State Security Committee (KGB) and civilian employees (as in departments of the military administration, military stores, etc) who participated in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. Only one period of service required 3 months for the military and 6 months for civilian employees. 14.9 million were awarded medals.
Lieutenant fought in the first unit of the Bulgarian Army, part of the Third Ukrainian Front, under the command of General Tolbukhin.
