Please contact the math department at your local school for higher learning for information concerning what usually comes after "3" but before "7". :laff
Gotcha! :chuckle

Eric, both the "OP" and the numbering were supposed to be jokes - I guess I'm losing my touch. I figured '5' would have seemed like a real mistake. But then, I do have my degrees in English/American Literature, not physics (which is what I started in).:D

I have one of these in my collection, and I tend to believe that this is a genuine variation given its manufacturing characteristics.

Also, I'd like to remind you that one ex-dealer, herewith well respected on these pages, also held the same belief (and sold at least one of them).

Nota Bene Wrote:The facts here are - these medals are mint made and were gold-plated before enamelling. I haven't been able to find any information from the mint that they were officially produced, but I have seen a photo of a veteran wearing this gold variation. I tend to believe that they are real, but the concrete proof is yet to be found.

And I guess we have it now, gentlemen. A little more than I knew before, but I guess we'll have to wait a while longer for a final word from the mint or the military.

Thanks to everyone.:thumbsup
