Medal "Robert Oppenhejmer", devoted to one of founders of a nuclear bomb of the USA... Robert Oppenhejmer ( Julius Robert Oppenheimer; on April, 22nd 1904, New York — on February, 18th 1967, Princeton, New Jersey, the USA) — the American physicist. Оppenheimer — the author of significant works on the quantum mechanics, physics of a nuclear kernel and space beams, division of isotopes, neutron stars. Per 1943-1945 supervised over creation of the American nuclear bomb (see Мanhattan project). Per 1946-1952 — chairman of general advisory committee of the Commission on an atomic energy of the USA, per 1947-1966 — director of College of basic researches in Princeton. Has opposed creations of a hydrogen bomb and in this connection in 1953 is suspended of confidential works.
