Here is the group of Professor-Colonel Vencheslav Yakimov Kavrakirov of the medical service.
Order of September 9th 1st Class with Swords (cased)
Order of Military Merit 1st Class (cased)
Combat Merit Medal
15 Years Long Service Medal
10 Years Long Service Medal
20 Years of the Bulgarian People’s Army
25 Years of the Bulgarian People’s Army
30 Years of the Bulgarian People’s Army
30 Years of Victory over Fascist Germany
40 Years of Victory over Fascist Germany
1300 Years of Bulgaria x 2
40 Years of Socialist Bulgaria
100th Anniversary of Georgi Dimitrov’s Birthday
Soviet Combat Merit Medal (unnumbered)
The Soviet Combat Merit Medal was awarded by the Ukaz of 8.9.69 for WW2/post-war cooperation on the 25th anniversary of the Communist Bulgarian revolution/coup. I was able to get a copy of the Ukaz and confirm the award. The only other medal I've seen from this Ukaz was a Red Star posted on another forum (I think the thread has been deleted, unfortunately).
This group was nearly split and survived two months in the postal system, but it's safe now!
I'll post all the documents one per message. Sorry for the length but that's the way the resizing worked out. If anyone would like more scans, please let me know. Also, please alert me if I misidentify or mistranslate something. Any additional insight on this group would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking! :thumbsup
