I was given a teak noticeboard case, maybe three inches deep, with glass windowed doors to stop students messing with the noticeboard. Have to do it up but I'll post pics when I do. Just the kind of thing you wound want for a medal display.
Also saw a glass display case being used for model cars, would look good for boxed orders as it has the depth.
My space is limited though, not sure where to put it all.
