During the breaking of heavily fortified enemy defences 23rd June 1944 in the region of the village of Shumilino precisely and arduously worked to install communications. Under heavy enemy artillery and mortar fire in a difficult crossing of a marsh established communications with the rifle companies, that ensured the battle.
