The 3rd World Congress of the W.F.T.U was held in Vienna on the 10-21 of October 1953. General Secretary was Louis Saillant and President of the W.F.T.U Committee was G. Di Vittorio. 40 different countries participated in the 3rd World Congress and the direction board was consisted of: Nicolai Chvernik, Alain Le Leap, Liu Ning I, Vicente Lombardo Toledano, S.A. Dange, Abdoulaye Diallo, Frantisek Zupka, Berthus Brandsen, Piotr Kazakov, Luigi Grassi, Liu Chang Cheng, Henri Jourdain, Ruslan Widjajasastra.
