Re: Badge for Diver

What's with the "CCCP" on the reverse???? That screams fantasy to me.
BTW, has anybody else noticed the plethora of diver related badges on eBay of late?

Re: Badge for Diver

I've never seen anything like it - interesting.

It may have been Soviet manufacture, but it wasn't an "official" proficiency badge for a uniform or at least not in any references I know.

The screwback plate is definitely not standard and there seems to be too much screaming "SOVIET UNION!" from the Soviet emblem on the front to the USSR on the reverse.

I would have to lean towards fantasy.

Some have taken to putting small versions of the helmets on bad KGB repro badges and claiming they are for "special forces divers."

Re: Badge for Diver

I can only say that does not come from eBay.
Taken from an Italian, who was traveling in Russia, ten years ago,
which I had sold for little money.

Measurements are 5 cm x 3 cm

Yep, that's the junk I'm talking about. I have to wade through all that chaff to find the rare kernal.
