Halhingol badge

I just found your topic concerning Halhingol badge and when I look at the Book : Mongolian orders, medals & badges from Dr. A. Battushig page 64, I can see that both versions of the badge have sier plated back. Furthermre, I have a friend that had the oppotunity to have some badges directely from Gokhran of MNR (the state storehouse of values - Mongolian Fort Noks) and all had siver plated back. To me, it means that in new condition they have silver on the back and aged the silver has gone. Concerning the screw nut on the 1945 variation (or 1966 according to Dr. Battushig) the screw nut of Dannybou's badge is OK!

Here is my mirror back: note as yet ANOTHER variant (the only one I have ever seen) that this nut bears the STREET ADDRESS of the manufacturer as well.

Rick,

Could you please post a better picture of the nut. I can't quite figure out what it says.

Yes, it's No 11, Kuznetsk(y). Most. Oddly enough, I have a photograph taken of a decrepit elderly PRUSSIAN General circa 1880-90 at the Photographer to His Imperial Majesty, I. Dyagovchenko at...

yup,

Dom No. 11, Kuznetsky Most', Moskva.

A "fashionable address," it would seem.

OK, I'm back witha freshly made larger scan closeup:

I've always kind of wondered whether the wartime+ "Victory" enamel badge factory of Moscow might not have been them, renamed?

Anybody know the street address for the Pobeda Zavod?

It seems that Vsekokhudozhnik is Vserossiiskii kooperativ khudozhnikov.
11 Kuznetskii Most used to be (probably still is) Dom Khudozhnikov (House of Artists) but to the best of my knowledge it's an arts gallery now.

Sergei,

I believe you are right, it is an arts gallery, and it used to be Moscow House of Artists.

Apparently Moskovskoe Tovarishestvo Khudozhnikov (Moscow Arts Cooperative) was part of the Vserossiiskii Kooperativ khudozhnikov (All-Russia Arts Cooperative), so I think it's at least possible, that the former might have subcontracted some badges to the latter. I could not find any information proving or disproving this.

Variations

Hello,

can anyone please tell me, how many variations of the badge for Khalkhin Gol do exist and what the differences are ?

I`m still looking for a nice one, but haven`t got enough knowledge about them...and of course I don`t want to buy a fake.

Thanks a lot,

Jens***

The Khalkingol (note spelling) badge/medal came in 4 varieties:

Type 1.1 - mirror reverse
Type 1.2 - mirror reverse, but extra high-quality enamel
Type 2.1 - flat reverse
Type 2.2 - flat reverse, in silver

Opinions Please

I never buy from the bay. And I should never say never. Ever.

Anyway, I'm in the market for a Khalkin-Gol badge, and would appreciate those who know badges to give an opinion of :thumbsup or :thumbsdown on this one.
