so, given that it is a type2, what would it's worth be? My wife, being Polish, doesn't care to share my interest in such medals. I can understand but I am such a student of history and these all have some history to them. Since I paid $33.00 for it. How much more "could" it be worth?

Jeff,

Have a look at established dealers' listings. In my opinion, it should be somewhere about $80 or so, depending on condition.

Interesting that it might be a 9 instead of a 2. Either way, it still remains within the WW2 range, just 1944 instead of 1943.

It is interesting since I don't think the seller was aware of any "modification" since, all his OTRS' were the same price no matter what the number.

This is the last of the stars that I picked up on the market.

This one is #2161210 (yes, in the millions).

According to the info supplied on the site under the article "Red Star", this number puts it around 1945.

This one's serial number is a bit different than others that I have seen. However, it looks real due to the heavy patina and other things. It does have bevelled edges on the star and the enamel is intact. However, the mint mark is not completely clear so I am wondering about that.

Would appreciate your opinion.

Jeff,

That one is OK also. It happens that the mintmark was sometimes poorly struck.

Thanks

I appreciate the review of my medals. It is true that they are addictive. This order the most.

Can you tell me where I might be able to have research on the number done? I would like to know who they were given to and exactly why they received them.

It is my understanding that they would have done something very heroic in order to receive such.

What features set it apart as a MZPP? Sorry for the silly question.

BTW, the star is in beautiful condition. This order is one of my favorites. I love :love the deep red enamel.

All MZPP Stars have very unique mintmark (the smallest letters out of all Red Star mintmarks) and typical non-accurate handwriting. Also they have distinct serial number ranges.

I think that they are awesome! You have a great collection. What are your lowest and highest numbers? You have any of them researched yet?
