When my father was sent to work to Russia in 1998-99, he escaped a little from his job in Svetogorsk, going to St. Petersburg. He came back with military fur hats for me and my brothers, also bringing me one of these pilotkas with lots of pins attached to them(most of them were useless and cheap crap).
I wanted more. More militaria than I could manage(I loved military stuff since I was 8 or 9, WWII was my adoration), and best if from the "cold side of the world". Also, in that year, I knew the truth about what happened here 30 years ago. I saw that the reliable persons in an affair of history lied shameslessly to me and all the ones who did not know exactly. Then I decided to support anything who was against the evil forces of fascism or the ones who exploited people for their own good and affairs. And I saw in the Soviet Union something to support, something what I liked to study(¡I hate studying!) and a way to learn more about the nations of the world, which is the only thing what I like to study. I also saw that the russian culture was one of the most beautiful ones. I got charmed of it.
I was rejecting the idea of collecting soviet militaria, being convinced that I would never travel to Russia, but someday, a friend returning from Santiago told me "Hey, there at the Bio-Bio Persian market there are a pair of russians who sell uniforms and hats, you´ll like it".
The adventure which lasts until today began then...
