Mongolian wrestler (Lion) Demuul's awards

Took this photo at the same museum in Dalanzadgad city, Umnugobi aimag (province). There is a corner devoted to the Mongolian wrestler Demuul who held the national wrestling rank of Lion. He had an interesting set of Mongolian sports badges. Also, you can see his wrestling outfit and imagine the size of his constitution.

Nice! For some reason, I have accumulated a lot of wrestling awards and awards for the lesser sports as well. Interesting to see the herder's badge there too. A man of many talents.

These local Mongolian museums are - to paraphrase Forest Gump - like a box of chocolates, it's always a surprise to see what you'll find when visiting it. And displays like the one shown in this thread are like a little treasure.:thumbsup

Makes me wish I'd had more time to venture further out in Mongolia than UB + surroundings the first (hopefully not the last!) time I visited.

Every aimag museum I have visited had wonders (though most were twitchy about photos).
