Received papers last week - Type 1 Red Banner, serial number 18788, to starshina Butsik Grigory, issued Feb. 1942 for December,31 1941 operation ( Happy New Year !!! ). He was in special scout skydivers ( desantnik ) group of Krimsky front! He was promoted to junior leutenant later in 1942. Did not find any additional files or records for this brave man... Order in almost perfect conditions, onlly tiny chip on banner. I hope, he wasn't kill in action and finished WW2 in Berlin.

Nice to know who was awarded the order and what it was for isn't it.


I have a Red Banner Reverse being researched also along with 10 more orders being researched at the moment. Mostly Red Banners #2, #3, #4. Once I get it all, I will share with the forum the more interesting stuff.

Here is the original citation. A nice long write up. Also a participant of the Winter War. His only award. Not listed as MIA or KIA.
