Yes you are right... from what I know there were 3 or 4 types made... with different text... the one I have on an officer's tunic (not the one 1st displayed here) is the one on the soldier's sleeve...

Here is the Berlin Brigade breast Badge.
With the same Memorial pictured in the cloth Badge.

And the reverse. They were issued to the troops before they left the GDR

Interesting uniform this extended service officer is wearing. The collar patches would denote a uniform being worn between 1969 and 1974 although they look a bit large and could be greatcoat collar patches. The fact they are black with medical insignia would suggest that she is a medic from a technical branch of service. The medical acedemy badge worn next to the guards badge is rarely seen in photos.
